Luxembourg Park
Luxembourg Park is right in the center of Paris fairly close to the Middle Ages museum and Notre Dame. It's a huge park that has a large house at the front. That house is today used for some official purpose that I couldn't really figure out. You weren't allowed inside and there were guards all around it, so it must have been important, though. This park was not very touristy, but instead was where a lot of Parisiens went to relax. There were a lot of people just walking around. Or reading. There were a lot of people sunbathing or just relaxing on the grass. Many people were kissing (there and all over Paris). It was generally a very relaxing place to be.
The park is also scattered with a handful of sculptures, and a little promenade of modern art. The place would be great for kids because around the edges of the park were a lot of playgrounds, sports fields, and rides. There are a few small cafes in the park as well, in case you're thirsty and like to pay a lot of money to quench your thirst (3 euros, which is more than $3 for a bottle of water).
