Notre Dame
Notre Dame is of course the most famous church in Paris, and probably one of the most famous in the world. It sits on an island right in the middle of the Seine river (the Island of the City). Notre Dame of course means "Our Lady," so this is a church devoted to Mary. It's quite large and quite busy. You have to pay to go to the top of the church, and the view is well worth the 7 euros you have to pay. The church itself is free, and none of the pay side things are worth it at all (there is a "Treasures of Notre Dame" section and "the Crpyts of Notre Dame" section that you have to pay to get into. Both are surprisingly boring). While this was very high on my list of things to do in Paris, I was much more impressed with Sacre Ceour church.
