The Taxi Ride

I got in a taxi today and say "Hyundai Hometown," the name of an apartment complex where my friend lives. I wasn't really paying attention, but after a while, I suddenly realized it was taking too long.

"Why is it taking so long?" I asked.

"Because Haeundae is far," he said.

Haeundae is all the way across town. Hyundai hometown is just a few minutes away. I corrected the error, but lost 20 minutes and an extra $7 in doing so. Plus (for some unknown reason) the cab driver was pissed.

Oddly, that's the first time in my entire time in Korea that I was actually on my way to the wrong destination. It's amazing I've made it this far without a cab slip up.
